Death Road FULL ITINERARY
The journey starts meeting the team at 6:50 – 7:00 (settle meeting point).
08:30 am Arrival to La Cumbre (4.700 m.). Our guide will make a short description of the tour.
Other explanations will be given as you descend or wherever is needed. As well you’d receive
all the equipment.
09:30 am We start descending through an asphalted road (about 1 hour) riding on the right
hand side, and make some breaks in safe areas to gather the group and take pictures. Arriving
in Unduavi, we will have to register and pay the entrance fee to the ‘’Death Road’’. There are
public toilets available for 0,5 Bs. (0.08 US $) IMPORTANT: you must keep entrance receipts
to the death road, as you may have to show them in the check point in Cerro Rojo.
10:30 am We take the bikes on the bus and drive to Chuspipata, the entrance of the real Death
Road (because this part is uphill and most of our clients cannot bear the effort, considering
that we are at an altitude of 3600 m.). During transport, you will have water and a chocolate
10:50 am Arrival in Chuspipata, where you will start riding on the real Death Road. Before
descending again, our guide will make a brief description about the road and security issues, in
order to have a safe ride. At this point, you will be riding slower on the left hand side of the road.
11:30 am We have a little break in San Juan, where you see nice waterfalls, and eat some
12:30 pm Arrival to check point, where they control entrance ticket to the Death Road 01:00 am
End of ride in Yolosa (1200 m.), then we’d take you to the Hotel in the village of Coroico.
01:30 pm Arrival at the Hotel; you will receive a towel and shampoo to have a shower. Then
you will be served a buffet lunch. After that, you may go for a dip in the nice swimming pool or
play pool or just relax on long chairs.
03:30 pm Return to La Paz
07:30 pm Approximate arrival time in La Paz.
PLEASE NOTE: arrival time depends on road conditions, and may be delayed for several
hours in case of rain, fog, snow, accident, landslide, road works, road blocks, slow groups,
